When the new decade unfolds before us this 2020, we were overwhelmed by the news every week including the Taal Volcano Eruption; Polio outbreak; growing mental health concerns among youth; bush fires on Australia, Indonesia and the Amazon; and of course the emergence of the COVID-19 global pandemic. These events escalated our uncertainties which affected our decisions in planning, implementation of plans and ways forward in the future. However, one thing that matters in all these uncertainties is the importance of good health and proper nutrition. This year in time of the COVID-19 pandemic and the new normal condition the Philippine Society of Nutritionist-Dietitians (PSND), Inc. choose the theme PUSH Nutrition: PSND Unravels Solutions for Health and Nutrition to discuss ways, approaches and strategies in the pursuit of maintaining and improving proper health and nutrition in times of the new normal. This year we will also elect a new set of PSND Officers for 2021-2022. We hope that this annual convention, which for the first time will be undertaken virtually, will not only provide you with relevant information, may it also uplift our drive in promoting proper health and nutrition particularly in trying times.
NOTICE OF VACANCY
The World Health Organization (WHO) Philippines is looking for an individual contractual partner for a Technical Coordinator for trans fat elimination and salt reduction under RESOLVE to Save Lives project, under a Special Services Agreement (SSA) contract.
Please refer to the attached terms of reference for a detailed scope of work. The target implementation timeline is from 1 February 2020 to 31 July 2020.
PSND, Inc. Board of Directors meet for the 2017 Annual Convention
Every year, the PSND, Inc. organizes a convention to serve as a venue for its members, local chief executives, health and nutrition workers and development planning officers to update and upgrade their knowledge and renew their commitment to the nutrition and dietetics profession. The convention has been a continuing catalyst in setting new ideas and generating awareness in empowering the profession.
On 8 April 2017, the PSND, Inc. Board of Directors held a meeting for the 2017 Annual Convention. The overall chair of the convention for this year is Ms. Anna Teresa O. Orillo who is also the Vice President of the society.
The Philippine Society of Nutritionist-Dietitians (PSND), Inc. is a dynamic organization of professionals in the field of nutrition and dietetics and other allied disciplines. PSND has the vision of being vital partner in ensuring food and nutrition security.
The membership year for PSND, INC. is from the date of receipt. Members renewing their membership will be required to pay any overdue membership subscription that have accrued. The current membership fee is Php300.00 which may change without prior notice.
Every year the PSND organizes its Annual Convention to serve as venue for its members, local chief executives, health/nutrition workers and development planning officers, and other allied professionals to update and upgrade their knowledge and renew their commitment to the nutrition and dietetics field in the country
PSND, Inc. has a diverse composition of Members from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao . PSND, Inc. members are mainly public health nutritionist, clinical dietitians, nutrition practitioners in the government organizations, private and corporate industry, International and non-government organizations, and academe.
