Over 100 participants attended the second episode of the PSND Webinar on Weekend (WoW) Back-to-Back 2024 Nutrition Month Series! The session, titled “Feeding Program for Optimal Nutrition and Educational Outcomes of Learners,” took place on July 27, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Mary Grace G. Flores, RND, from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, discussed the Masustansyang Pagkain Para sa Batang Pilipino Act and the role of the nutrition community in feeding programs. Ma. Liza G. Valdez, Nutritionist-Dietitian III, also from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, shared insights on healthy recipes and the operationalization of centralized kitchens for school meals. Mei-Ling V. Duhig, RND, MPA, Health Education and Promotion Officer III from the Department of Education, presented on the impact of the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) on the nutrition and educational outcomes of learners.
The session was moderated by Paul Alteo Bagabaldo, PSND Auditor, and concluded with closing remarks by Maria Camille Louise Chen, PSND Public Relations Officer.
The webinar provided valuable information on the national feeding program’s initiatives and updates, the development and provision of nutritious meals, and the program’s positive impact on student beneficiaries. Thank you to all who participated and contributed to this successful event!
