Over 110 participants joined the first episode of the PSND Webinar on Weekend (WoW) Back-to-Back 2024 Nutrition Month Series held on 20 July 2024. This episode, titled “BIDANI Network Program: A Nutrition-In-Development Strategy,” focused on the BIDANI Network Program’s role in improving nutrition across the Philippines through innovative strategies and local government empowerment. The webinar highlighted BIDANI’s key approaches and the significant contributions of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and partner Local Government Units (LGUs) to their communities, offering valuable insights into a pivotal initiative in the nation’s journey towards better health and sustainable development.
The guest speakers from the BIDANI Network Program at the University of the Philippines Los Baños included Clarissa B. Juanico, RND, PhD, Pamela A. Gonzales, MSc., Jaidee P. Agne, RND, MSc., and King Niño B. Manzano. Additionally, Marcia Corazon P. Rico, PhD, Director of the Extension Management Division and Professor VII at Bicol University, and Marc Louie M. Almario, RND, EnP, MPA, the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer of Rizal, Laguna, contributed their expertise. The event was moderated by Abigail A. Pabro and concluded with remarks from PSND President Cristina B. Sison. This engaging session provided participants with critical insights into the BIDANI Network Program’s contributions to nutrition and sustainable development in the Philippines.
