The PSND Convention has been a forum to Connect, Inspire and Collaborate Nutritionist-Dietitians (NDs) and multidisciplinary partners who share the common vision of a food and nutrition secure Philippines. As we continue addressing the challenges brought about by COVID-19 pandemic, multisectoral partners, are providing nutrition interventions to governments, food businesses, health workers and the general public, to maintain good health and prevent malnutrition in all its forms.
New normal may mean a new way of living, including changes in human behavior as a result of health and work protocols, consumption patterns, etc., in the midst of a (the) pandemic. It is a state to which an economy, society, etc. settles following a crisis, when this differs from the situation that prevailed prior to the start of the crisis.
New future may be described as a state where capabilities and mechanisms for emergency response are built up and sustained, a society that is more surveillance and technology-driven and where government and individuals are empowered to take actions to mitigate risk and minimize transmission (of disease) while maintaining social and economic activities
The 2021 PSND Convention again provides a unique and much-anticipated platform for gathering NDs and nutrition partners and advocates to discuss the issues that hold down efforts to improve health and food and nutrition security, appreciate the science and evidence to guide our shared efforts to address the issues (eg. data, tools, technology), and identify ways forward from new normal to new future.
